Exploration History

Satterly (1938) reported prospectors active in Stull Lake area as early as 1935. The Wynne brothers discovered the showing in 1935. Ten diamond drill holes were completed in 1936. 1960: Phelps Dodge carried out geophysical surveys and follow-up diamond drilling. 1970s: Inco conducted work in the Stull Lake area including airborne mag and numerous ground EM surveys. 1971-1974: SEREM Ltd. conducted surface magnetic and EM surveys., followed by 20 drill holes. 1979: Noranda drilled two holes in the area. 1980s: Noranda conducted various geochemical surveys in the area. Samples taken. 1987: Westmin Resources carried out mapping and prospecting. 1988: Westmin carried out HLEM geophysical surveys. 1989: Westmin Resources drilled 2 DDH totalling 160 m. 1992: E. Lithology Comments

Aug 15, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Satterly (1938) reported that the showing consists of a fine-grained, silicified, buff-coloured quartzite bed, 6 feet in width, interbedded with fine-grained, grey quartzite striking S. 50 E. and dipping 70 S. The silicified quartzite contains minute stringers, with a maximum width of half an inch, lying parallel to the structure and consisting of sugary or glassy quartz with finely disseminated pyrite and pyrrhotite.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 15, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Westmin reported that a sample collected in 1937 assayed 5.6 g/t Au, a sample collected in 1967 assayed 2.7 g/t Au, and sample 10213 collected in 1988 assayed 5.8 g/t Au (Assessment report 20000004807). DDH E-89-05 assayed 1.83 ppm Au over 1 m from a feldspar porphyritic intermediate tuff with trace pyrrhotite and pyrite (Assessment report 53K07SE0004). Sampling in 2002 returned values of 0.75 g/t Au and 1.17 g/t Au (Assessment report 53K08NW2002).
